Polyacrylamide for water treatment is divided into anionic, cationic, and nonionic types.
Anionic polyacrylamide has good water solubility, is almost insoluble in organic solutions, has the characteristics of high polymer electrolyte in neutral and alkaline media, is sensitive to salt electrolytes, and can be cross-linked with high-valent metal ions to form an insoluble gel.
Cationic polyacrylamide is positive in acidic or alkaline media, which can effectively flocculate and precipitate the sewage with negative charge of suspended particles. It has the functions of decolorization, adsorption, turbidity bonding, sludge dewatering and so on.
Nonionic polyacrylamide can accelerate the sedimentation of particles in suspension, and has a very obvious effect of accelerating the clarification of the solution and promoting filtration. It is mainly used for flocculation and sedimentation, precipitation and clarification treatment of various industrial wastewaters. Such as paper and pulp wastewater treatment, mineral processing and metal smelting process wastewater treatment, steel mills and stone processing plant wastewater treatment, etc.
