Xanthan Gum
Xanthan gum (XC) is a biopolymer, a high-molecular-weight polysaccharide polymer produced by the action of Xanthomonas bacteria oncarbohydrates. This product is a highly efficient viscosifier for saltwater and saturated saltwater drilling fluids, forming a viscous solution when completely dissolved in water after stirring. Its typical applications include increasing drilling fluid viscosity and shear strength. It is also widely used in solids-free drilling fluids, completion fluids, and workover fluids, effectively preventing formation damage.
