Product Description

Drilling Fluid Sulphonated  Formaldehyde Resin SMP-Ⅰ,SMP-Ⅱ ,SMP- Ⅲ

SMP-I and SMP-II are condensation products obtained from the condensation and sulfonation reaction , formaldehyde, and sodium sulfite under certain conditions. They exhibit excellent fluid loss control properties and are excellent fluid loss agents for formulating drilling fluids for deep and ultra-deep wells. SMP-III introduces cationic monomers into the molecular structure of the formaldehyde resin, further enhancing its salt resistance, improving fluid loss control performance, and providing better inhibition of clay expansion and dispersion. Compared to conventional sulfonated formaldehyde resin products, SMP-III has a lower viscosity effect and better high-temperature stability, which is advantageous for adjusting the rheological properties of drilling fluids.

Main Functions SMP

1. High-temperature filtration loss reduction effect
SMP can effectively reduce fluid loss in drilling fluid, that is, it can decrease the ater seeping into the formation from the drilling fluid.
Form a dense and tough mud cake to prevent the wellbore from becoming unstable.
It is not easy to decompose at high temperatures and can usually withstand temperatures above 180 to 200 degrees Celsius.
2. High-temperature resistance stability
The molecule contains sulfonic acid groups (-SOH) and methyl phenolic structures, and has high thermal stability.
Prevent the drilling fluid from thickening or stratifying under high-temperature conditions and maintain stable rheological properties.
3. Improve rheological properties
Maintain the appropriate viscosity of drilling fluid under high-temperature or high-salt conditions.
